Zog by David Lanham with special variant by Frank Kozik
05/09/2008,03:22 PM
David Lanham on Zog x Strangekiss x Frank Kozik
I wasn't entirely sure how translating my drawings into a vinyl toy would work out, but I knew it would be fun. At the same time, I didn't want to get my hopes up too much just in case.
Now I can definitely say that I haven't been this excited since Christmas morning when I was little. I could barely sit down for a few hours after I saw how the sculpting was coming along! They hit it spot on and I doubt there will be too many tweaks needed at all, although it's still a bit weird to see something you've made cross from 2d to 3d.
Here are some pictures of the wax sculpture so far, I hope you like them as much as I do!
-------------------------------
Things are getting close now, it looks like we are on schedule and just hit the wax mold stage of production.
The wax model will be used to produce the production molds that the vinyl will be injected into. So we're getting very close to having a final product!
I'd also like to announce that in addition to the normal and loving Zog we all know, designer Frank Kozik will be creating a limited edition colorway of Zog's slightly more evil twin. Everything is about balance and you can't have something sweet without a little sour:
And lastly, just a reminder that I'll be at the San Diego Comic Convention this year in StrangeKiss' booth #4637 so here's your official invite to stop by and say hi!

PinkyPunk Invades Strangekiss with One Of A Kind Wonders!
01/18/2008,02:03 PM
Strangekiss Art Toys proudly introduces Pachy aka PinkyPunk.
We simply fell in love with her designs and knew her talent needed to be recognized. She recently was part a group custom Plush Show in Los Angeles and the owner of the gallery bought her piece even with the first few minutes.
We will be showcasing some of her work at SDCC 2008 (we hope to see you there) plus many great collaboration's from PinkyPunk
ABOUT PACHY SARMIENTO
MIAMI, June 2007- With its pillow shape, annexed extremities and halfhearted face, its only purpose in life is to make you laugh, cry, and many times think: PINKYPUNK offers that constant presence that only an unconditional friendship can give.
As a soft and squishy buddy, it accepts its decorative circumstance and becomes the comforting companion of your joy and laughter. Those are the qualities of the PINKYPUNKS: huggable because they are comfortable, understanding because they are flexible, trustworthy because they are mute and therefore becoming your new best friend through the good times and the bad.
Pachy Sarmiento describes her own creations as contradictory figures. In fact, the name “PINKYPUNK” articulates the irreverent behavior, the most offensive but also the most innocent, of a child who sticks out his tongue to his parents, without losing his PINK innocence and his PUNK rebellious characteristics. That child makes PINKYPUNK, an example of an oxymoron: a figure of speech that combines two normally contradictory terms.
Pachy decided to give a twist to her career as a graphic designer and pursue a dream that proudly and successfully threads into each and every one of her PINKYPUNKS. “One way or another, sewing has always been part of my life. But I had never touched a sewing machine even less owned one; and never took part in projects where needles, threads and fabrics would be my working tools,” “For years, I thought about all the things I learned from my grandmothers and wanted to put them into practice” Pachy.
Currently, Pachy works as a freelance graphic designer in Miami, Florida as well as on her PINKYPUNKS which you can virtually enjoy at www.pinkypunk.tv .
Pachy Sarmiento was born in Puerto Rico in 1977 and raised in San Juan de los Morros, a small town in central Venezuela. In 2001, she graduated as a visual communicator from the Visual Communications School PRODISEÑO in Caracas, Venezuela.
She began her career as a junior designer in Totuma Communications, where she participated in projects for HBO Latin America, HBO Plus, Fox Kids and Discovery Channel Latin America.
In 2005, Pachy left Venezuela and moved to Miami,Florida to become part of the Warner Channel Latin America promotions team. The following year she went on to become an image developer for Nick at Nite for Nickelodeon Latin America
Today, Pachy works as a freelance designer in Miami, Florida as well as on her PINKYPUNKS.
Then we fell in love with her and filled the world with PinkyPunks :-)
